Little Bear has transformed before my eyes, growing so fast from being my little baby, into a little boy. Crawling all over the place, able to pull himself up without any trouble, and standing for a few seconds at a time, I have a feeling he will be walking in no time, if not before his first birthday. I can't believe he is so close to that 1st birthday! I have many plans underway for that party...thank you pinterest for the hours spent with finding just the perfect decorations, cake, games, and food. Anyway, that will be another blog with pictures once that happens. :)
His two front teeth finally arrived, making a grand total of four. In the middle of teething, he had a mild croup, with that barking cough and running nose. Overall his sleeping wasn't the best, but other then being super cuddly it passed without incident.
His favorite toys right now, are his cell phone from Aunt C, and Mickey rattle from Friend H. His other toys tend to vary, including the junk mail and newspaper leftovers. He is in discovery mode, everything is something to examine or explore. (Including getting stuck in the bottom shelf of the bookcase, he was able to wiggle in, but not out. He shrieked to be freed, after I pulled him out, and set him on his way, he crawled away muttering shaking his head...if there was a language for baby cussing...I do believe that is what I heard! Still makes me laugh!)
He loves to feed himself, tends to go overboard and stuff his face...so we do have to monitor how much goes on his tray, and give him a little at a time. He loves chicken, mac and cheese, and ritz crackers. Aunt K, was privy to this, where at lunch, he scrapped a hole into the center of a Ritz cracker without breaking it. This kid has some amazing patience and skill!
We have cut out all TV, except PBS Create, Super Why or a movie, just feel like he has gotten very sensitive to even commercials and I really want to be careful what he sees. We've been playing lots of music and occasional Christian talk radio. He loves to dance to the music! Played a copy of an old record I had when I was a child, and he loves to bounce to those songs. So much fun to watch.
I love these two pictures, it shows how textile he is, and how he loves to examine every detail. His eyesight is phenomenal, we have to vacuum all the time, for every tiny piece he finds goes straight into his mouth. He has been recently pausing and trying to hid what he find in his hands and crawl away since he knows I will take it away, and tries to put it in his mouth around the corner. I've come to recognize that look of guilt and take swift action.
We do enjoy going to the library once a week. I've been learning to get a few more things done around his schedule, making sure he gets some alone play time too, while I get somethings around the house done, get a shower, and maybe lunch too. ;) We've been doing a womans bible study on the book James once a week, and that has been great! I've been excited to have rearranged the living room and finding new ways to have storage, keep things cleaner and more organized. the basement and half of the garage are the last big spots to get organized. I tend to spend his nap times going through a little bit here and there...its amazing how fast an hour and a half can go, but a little at a time it will get done...like the tortoise and the hare song I have going on in my head from his music. :)
I am amazed how quickly times does fly, I'm thankful I set aside the baby calendar so every night before bed I jot something down for almost by the next day I don't remember the funny thing he did, the new discovery he made, or the daily adventure we went on. Although I am the most exhausted I have been in my life! I am the most fulfilled! I love being a mom!
